Carole Lombard (Barbecue Spare Ribs) and Clark Gable (Hunter's Breakfast)
I'm posting recipes of Carole Lombard and Clark Gable together, because they were married for three years before her tragic death in a plane crash in 1942. Gable said Lombard was the love of his life and even though he was married twice after her death, he chose to be buried along side her.

Favorite Recipes of Actors and Actresses
I haven't had anything new to post about for a while, since I haven't been collecting autographed photos for several years. So I've decided to start posting again, but with a new subject.
I've always been interested in favorite foods and drinks of actors and actresses, primarily those of what's been called Hollywood's Golden Age. Over the years, I've acquired several books which have "favorite recipes" of well-known film people. Sadly, many of those people are mostly forgotten today, remembered only by hard-core film buffs who enjoy the older movies.
One such book I bought several years ago is What Actors Eat --- When They Eat, a 1939 compilation by two film actors, Kenneth Harlan and Rex Lease. The book contains over 200 pages of recipes from actors and actresses, and accompanying each is a photo and a signature facsimile.
Over the next several weeks, I'll be posting selected recipes. And to be fair, I haven't personally tried any of them, but several do appear to be very tasty!
To begin, here are the opening pages of the book, with bios of Harlan and Lease, a foreword by screenwriter Anita Loos, and a listing of names of studio people who assisted. Also included below is the "page 13" referred to in the last 2 paragraphs of the aforementioned page.
Every few days or so, I'll post a selected recipe or two. I won't write any bio information about the actor/actress because such information can be found elsewhere (Wikipedia, IMDb, etc).
And if anyone tries any of the recipes, please feel free to post comments about the results.
